The Hadley Wood Football club is now in its fifth season and is at full capacity. The project has developed to its optimum size as a Youth football club with thirteen teams from U8 toU16 years and approximately two hundred members.
Hadley Wood is a Charter standard development club. It is one of only eleven in the country with this advanced status. This means that we stringently follow the FA directive for children’s football. We ensure that all our staff take the FA coaching badge (including a child protection and emergency aid workshop). In addition we have a Health and Safety policy, an anti-discrimination policy and codes of conduct. We also provide police checks on ALL our volunteers. The development award will give us the reputation and status as a safe and well run club which will ensure schools and centre of excellence will choose to send us their most talented youngsters.
The club endeavours to deliver to the children at HWFC, the necessary level of ability, attitude and commitment. This will help to further their football career and will ensure an exit from youth football to adult football if that is what they desire.
The club is an official feeder club to Wingate and Finchley FC.
Wingate and Finchley play in the Rymans league and is steeped in history. The youth teams will play at the stadium against other pro and semi-pro clubs and to compete in the FA Youth Cup.
Along with our associations with Adam Clifft Soccer schools and TCS development centres we have the best facilities and initiatives in the area. This all means competition for places.
Over the last year three players have been signed for professional clubs ranging from Tottenham to Crystal Palace and Watford. Three of our players have represented Wingate and Finchley first team and the majority of the players representing the club at U14,16 and under 18 have been through our youth development programme. Many are representing the districts in which they live and we have also had representatives at county level. HWFC Chairman
