NEIGHBOURHOOD PLANNING FORUM

 Hadley Wood Neighbourhood Planning Forum

‘Supporting good development; preserving our local character and natural environment'

The Hadley Wood Neighbourhood Planning Forum was five years old in summer 2020. At this point we were required to formally re-apply for ‘designation’.  Enfield Council confirmed redesignation from 18th January 2021.  Please see document in list below.

Our vision statement is;
‘Future development in Hadley Wood will follow the principles of ‘good growth’ by reinforcing and protecting the intrinsic qualities of both the built and the natural environment.
New homes will be of a high quality design and provide a wider choice for all.
Green spaces, trees and vegetated gardens, so important to biodiversity, wellbeing, drainage and air quality, will be given stronger protection.
New footpaths, cycle routes and improved public transport will lead to healthier and more active lifestyles, reducing reliance on the car.
The Neighbourhood Plan (NP) supports sustainable development, preserves our local character, and protects the natural environment’.

The NPF successfully applied for grant funding in 2017.  We awarded a contract to Troy Planning and Design to write our local plan based upon the inputs of our members and the local community.
The draft plan has been published on the Hadley Wood Association website since February 2019.  Following feedback from the community, including a detailed response from Enfield Council, the next version of the plan (V4) was issued in December 2019 and reviewed by a core group of residents.   A comprehensive edit has been completed, and Version 5 of the NP is now available (May 2020).

Our NP will be the subject of formal community consultation (Regulation 14 Consultation), hopefully in 2021.  After amendment to reflect your feedback this will be submitted to Enfield Council, who will arrange independent examination.  A full referendum of the entire local community to endorse the plan will follow.  Full details will be here on the Website and in the Hadley Wood News.

Anyone who lives or works in the area is eligible to join the NPF.  We welcome new members, new volunteers, and inputs, comments and questions.
