Security in Hadley Wood
Hadley Wood Association Security Committee
Large Government budget cuts in policing, coupled with the closure of all our local police stations, has ensured security is a key focus for our community. In response, the HWA Security Committee was formed and our inaugural residents' Crime Summit meeting, held at the HWA Centre, was very well attended. Within this forum we openly discussed how we could best plan crime prevention in Hadley Wood. Since then, our neighbourhood police team has been holding regular drop-in sessions at Thymari to discuss local crime and prevention initiatives, with our neighbourhood watch team coordinators also present to discuss real, local concerns.
The HWA Security Committee members are Dawn Wellings & Robert Wilson (Hadley Wood Association), Simone Strauss & Richard Walker (Hadley Wood Watch), Natasha Demetriou (Neighbourhood Watch), Simon Lester & Stuart Singer (Hadley Wood Security), Ahmet Izzet & Tony Nash (My Local Bobby) and PC Carl Bliss (Metropolitan Police). We meet regularly and discuss all aspects of crime prevention and response relating to Hadley Wood. If you have a specific issue you would like us to discuss, please contact us using any of the details below.
We are working very hard to ensure Hadley Wood remains a safe community for all of our residents. After a detailed tendering and interview process, Hadley Wood Security contracted My Local Bobby to take over the patrols within Hadley Wood. The service they are providing us is second to none and we would urge anyone not yet signed up to visit www.hadleywoodsecurity.com for more information or to register interest.
Exciting news: if all residents living between and including Lancaster Avenue & Waggon Road who registered their interest in Hadley Wood Security send in their direct debit forms, there will be a second, dedicated security patrol car for this area from June, making all of our streets safer. If you have not yet sent in your paperwork, please do so. Please also see the advert from Gallagher, offering a 10% discount on home and motor insurance to Hadley Wood Security Members. Just quote HadleyWood10 for this great membership benefit.
As a result of Simone and Carl's efforts, the ANPR/CCTV project funded by Hadley Wood Security continues throughout Hadley Wood. This is a pilot scheme and interest in this project is being taken by Police Commissioners throughout the country. If you would like to hear more on this, please come along to our Thymari drop-in sessions. Dates are posted on the Neighbourhood Watch WhatsApp chat and here on the HWA website The next session is Saturday 8th June 2019, Thymari, 10am.
